1. What are Cardboard Boxes?

2. Structure of Corrugated Cardboard Boxes

A corrugated cardboard box consists of two main parts: the exterior (two paper liners) and the interior (the paper core). When looking at the paper core, you will notice that it is manufactured with a wavy, undulating shape, known as "fluting" or "corrugation." In the technology of manufacturing corrugated boxes, these flutes are categorized into A-flute, B-flute, C-flute, and E-flute. Typically, these flutes are not used individually during manufacturing but are combined to create robust boxes with good strength, load-bearing capacity, and high puncture resistance. The difference between A, B, C, and E flutes lies in the thickness (height) of each corrugated layer. For high-value goods with heavy payloads, a corrugated box with a thickness of up to 4.7 mm must be used. Conversely, if the goods are light, you only need to use boxes with a thin fluting layer in the middle.
